Sydney is experiencing a renewal of public enthusiasm about the way the harbour should be developed. The East Darling Harbour project committed the government to this enthusiasm by creating an invited competition of ideas for the development of 22-hectares of waterfront prior to letting the market through the door. Framed as an urban design and transformation project, the East darling harbor proposal (with Morphosis Architects) aspires to attract Sydney’s inhabitants, visitors, and workers, while forging myriad connections between city and harbour.
