STANFORD UNIVERSITY - SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING QUAD
PALO ALTO, CALIFORNIA
The new Stanford University Science and Engineering Quad, designed with BOORA Architects will be a forum for collaboration between disciplines, a further establishment of the original Olmsted plan for the campus and a unique open space for the University. Its design both reflects the historic landscape of the campus and re-defines that landscape for contemporary use. Existing heritage trees, a variety of scales of spaces, terraces to a lower level café, a reflecting pool, native landscape and places to sit either intimately, or to gather as groups and even to hold convocations will make the quad integral to the life of the disciplines surrounding it and an amenity for the entire campus.
