The project was designed to create a physical environment that will support innovation and inspire creative thinking. A site design pattern based on circuits gives form to pedestrian movements and rainwater catchment systems, where water is directed into rain gardens that are integral to the promenades that branch from the central quad, the high point of the site, and in each cardinal direction.
Exxon’s office complex is comprised of multiple mid-rise buildings, designed with sustainability and site restoration as key features of the plan for this wooded site. The campus was designed to high standards of energy efficiency and environmental stewardship, and particularly capitalizes on the possibilities of creating indoor and outdoor places that foster interaction and collaboration amongst employees in their daily work, as well as support their health and well-being.
