University Commons is one in a series of connective open spaces that link the east and west campuses. It lies in what was once a deep ravine and connects at several levels with the surrounding buildings and rolling terrain of the medical campus.
University Commons is one in a series of connective open spaces that link the east and west campuses. It lies in what was once a deep ravine and connects at several levels with the surrounding buildings and rolling terrain of the medical campus including the new Vontz Center for Molecular Studies by Frank O. Gehry and Associates. Collegial gathering spaces, solitary contemplative areas, a fountain and the Campus’s first major sculpture garden are found amidst sloping and flat lawn surfaces and sculptural landforms that punctuate the site.
